News and Updates

Update (04.28.08)
  • Migrating from my directories on katana over to ctdb. 5 years and still impressively unused.

    • Update (03.11.03)
  • The Date bug has been fixed.
  • The Search Tool has been completed. You can access it from the top frame or by clicking on search inventory on the common page.

    • Updates (03.10.03)
  • The locations database now tracks the last 4 locations where an item has been. Viewing of these entries is restricted to administrative access
  • The Problem with secondary searching has been fixed. However the sort tabs remain unfunctional.
  • Search page has been implemented. It is still expiremental and only works for one search. Use the secondary criteria for expirements only. The results are not gauranteed. Also the results page cannot be sorted yet. The sort tabs will display the entire inventory, not your search, with the chosen sort.
  • All form sends have been converted to the POST method for security.

  • Serial Checking has been integrated.
  • Access to certain areas has been blocked if you do not have proper access permissions.
  • The option to sort by date is now selecteable on the list page.
  • The common page now has a pulldown menu that lets you select the class of the item being modified.
    The class options and their explanations are as follows:

    Chassis is for Chassis
    Super/Manage Module is for Supervisor and Management Modules.
    Fiber Module is for Modules with Fiber ports
    Copper Module is for modules with copper ports.
    Module is for a Module that does not fit either of the above categories.
    Power Supply is for Power supplies.

    These changes are also reflected in the list page as well. Any and all changes from today on will also carry the new descriptive classes.

    • Updates (03.05.03)
    The Add/Remove/Move pages have been combined into one page called common.html. The title is "nventory Interface : Simple Mode(test)" Please make a note of it.

    Updates (03.05.03)
    The Mozilla bug has been isolated. Users using the Mozilla browser or its variants are now able to use all features of the database.
    Currently working out the date bug.

    Updates (03.04.03)
    A bug has been identified that effects mozilla and all its variants. It occurs after submitting your form data to anyone of the pages(add/remove/move). I believe that it is caused by different interpretations of javascript code. The result is that users using a browser that fits the above criteria will not be able to use the interface. Currently working out this defect. An update will be posted when the fix has been completed.

    • Use Add Database Items to add new equipment purchased from vendors Old Version
    • Use Remove Database Items to remove items from the Inventory Old Version
    • Use Move Database Items to move items in between buidlings or departments Old Version
    • All of the above has been combined into a single page, named Interface Simple Mode
    • Use List Database Items to List All Inventory
    • Use Administrative Page to Manage Accounts and Access the Inventory Database with full permissions
